Who are we?

The Co-operating Netherlands Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe (CNF CEE) form a network of four core foundations based in the Netherlands providing financial and technical assistance to grassroots initiatives in CEE since 1991. The CNF core foundations are JANIVO Foundation, Kinderpostzegels, Foundation “Het RC Maagdenhuis” and Skan foundation.

The CNF intend to assist the process of social transition in Central and Eastern European countries by strengthening organisations active in the field of social care for vulnerable groups. Project grants are given to encourage private initiative through grass-root non-governmental organisations (NGOs) aiming to support the development of a civil society that acts side by side with governments and other actors. Often, advocacy activities for the benefit of these target groups are included as a part of the application. CNF support projects specifically aimed for:

  • (former) addicts
  • (former) convicts
  • communities
  • disabled
  • economically deprived
  • elderly
  • homeless
  • (ethnic) minorities
  • patients (mental and physical health care)
  • refugees
  • victims
  • women
  • youth
